High 72, Low 51: Fog Scattering by Mid-Morning
We keep lookin' and expectin' to be living in fog blanket city but the white menance is already breaking by the time we're done with our beignets at Just For You. (Holla back Dog Patch!)
See the fog future for yourself. This is our newest favorite link and you can feel free to click it obessively with us for the next 7 weeks.
Honestly, here it is the Fogth of July and only the most coastal of neighborhoods have been suffering from any of the misty malaise. Our official meteorological opinion is that the extremely light fog is compensation for putting up with one of the rainiest May and June's in Bay Area history. We earned this decent weather dammit. Fark, we can think of a good many 4th of July's we wanted to throw some logs in the fireplace so it was a pleasure to be able to see actual exploding fireworks instead of vague color shade changes in the clouds.
And the forecast ahead is purely prototypical perfect Ess Eff. Foggy overnight, daytime highs breaking the low 70s (though it always feels warmer) with intermittent clouds and nighttime lows dropping to the mid-50s. We thrive on this stuff. You can bike to work without breaking a sweat. You can sit outside at lunch but don't even need a fan at night. Your extra layer is always enough and you can even wear shorts until you start seeing the fog gather atop Twin Peaks. Anyone singing "Hot time summer in the city back of my neck all dirt and gritty" is definitely not "sitting on the dock of the bay watching the tide roll away."
Finally, as we head into the weekend, your weatherist's final prediction is that Wired will suffer a solid softball thumping in their hopeless folly against your humble purveyors of local worded delights, the SFist'ers! Gametime 6pm, 17th & Alabama, gawkers encouraged.

Fog Schmog.
