Stuff to do if You're Bored

We were shanghaiied in the best possible way yesterday, getting into our friend's car after lunch at the Slow Club. A spontaneous decision was made to go south, and we had a mini-vacation of one drink at the Moss Beach Distillery in Pacifica. By the end of the night we were hanging out at a Korean hostess bar in the Richmond, smoking cigarettes and listening to Aretha Franklin. Needless to say, this post is a day late and more than a few dollars short...

But then, it's the effin' birth of our nation. We assume you're either out of town or throwing flag burning parties with your friends. Grill over some hot coals and maybe shoot off some illegal fireworks, or get a keg and call some friends if you're bored. We're going to be out of commission through Monday. That said, whatever you do, don't go to North Beach on Monday. It's always crowded for the Chron fireworks display, and more often than not it's shrouded in fog, too. A roof anywhere in the Mission is generally more entertaining.

And as a special treat to celebrate America, while SFist is a little peeved that the Supreme Court didn't protect administration shill Judith Miller on journalistic grounds, we're more than a little tickled that the email trail apparently leads to none other than Karl Rove. Can you say treason? We sure can! Happy Fourth of July!
