May Just Look Official Enough

Via the Flickr blog (disclosure: Yahoo owns Flickr, Yahoo pays some of this SFist's bills, but this isn't officially from Yahoo) we find out about an ID generator for photographers who use Flickr. Why is this cool? Because in our hyper-paranoid age, anything you've got to keep the authorities off your back for taking pictures might come in handy.

H. Brown, for one, has suggested that press start issuing their own passes (he's made his own for the SF Bulldog), and this would be a great way for photogs to at least appear professional -- could have saved us the trouble of organizing an action on Muni. Now we just have to come up with a way to generate badges for 'isters!

Yes, we know it's narcissistic to use our own badge (photo by Glenda B) but hey, we figured it was better than selecting someone at random from the badge pool.

so far, the only place i've needed ID is at Yerba Buena. they just had me sign a form and gave me a little clip-on badge. i want one of those Flickr badges though! that's some suave business right there, "Status: Pro"
