Bay Blogger Thursday

We'll use this week's post to highlight the project of one enterprising Bay Blogger, Eddie Codel, who is leading the charge to produce an awesome event this September: Webzine 2005!
The Webzine fabulousness started back in 1998, amidst the golden age of overpaid business development jerks, when alt-media cats who'd had a few glasses of the punch called "The Internet" were given $1500 by Adobe to throw a party. The kept it going all the way to 2001, when a less-fat Michael Moore gave a speech to the crowd at CBGBs in New York City.
Now it's back, and SFist hopes better than ever. Webzine is for bloggers, zinesters, podcasters, independent filmmakers, citizen journalists, punks, hippies and freaks -- basically anyone who has something to say and wants to share their knowledge about how they get the word out. SFist is going to be covering the event as an interested (and involved) party, but we can say that the dignitaries on board already are awesome folks and it promises to be both fun, informative and empowering. There's lots of ways to get involved, so get off your a** and make it happen!
