Toy Boat at 5th and Clement is awesome if you're anywhere near the Inner Richmond. The desserts are great, but the real entertainment value is in the decor.

although it is so far away that it might as well be in a different state, Rick's Dessert Diner in Sacromento deserves a mention here. It's actually worth driving that far: Tall glass counters with every sort of cake and pie you can imagine, big glasses of milk, diner booths... salivating... why can't some dot bomber open one in SF?

mara's italian pastry in north beach! it has chocolate dipped cheesecake and cannoli and many other delicious treats.
