This week's adoptable pet (she'll be featured on SFist all week long on the right side of the site, below the ads) comes to us from Grateful Dogs Rescue. We think she's adorable as all get out, but are dying to know why people put bandanas or scarves on dogs. Please explain this to us in the comments!

Betty is a nine pound female Chihuahua mix, about 3-4 years old. She is probably OK with other small dogs and cats. She needs an adults-only home (no children), with an experienced dog owner because she can be nippy. She loves long walks, good meals and cuddling under the covers. Betty has a right rear luxating patella, so she shouldn't be allowed to become overweight.
