SFist loves local magazines, from to Other to Dwell. (And before all you "Wavefans" from the same IP address write in, the answer is "no".) We're so happy to welcome The Skinny, a new Bay Area publication, to the mix. According to their site "The Skinny is a quarterly guide to the San Francisco Bay Area that caters to an underserved group of residents and visitors between the ages of 18 and 34, (Ed note: we're 34 the end of this month, what are we supposed to read then, Better Homes and Gardens?) with discriminating tastes, a discriminating budget and an interest in local talent, art, personalities and flavor of all kinds."

Their first issue features, among other things, a great interview with Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket, for the under-13 in either mind of body set), which makes us just so jealous we could cry.

We'll keep it inside/learn how to hide our feelings, because we have to keep it together for their big fundraiser tomorrow night at Arspace Gallery. For the 5-20 buck sliding scale entrance, you'll get food, booze, free stuff, and that snuggly "supporting the local arts" feeling.
