SFist Watches: Movies This Weekend

SFist regrets to inform our readers that the best movie event this weekend is actually happening on Monday, April 11. Because of this move, we will spend the weekend watching MI5 (Spooks to you, Londonist Mike), with maybe a brunch at Nona's

Now, the place to be on Monday is our beloved Balboa, where Gene Wilder will be appearing in Person to sign his new book, Kiss Me Like a Stranger : My Search for Love and Art in the Balboa lobby from 5:30- 7:00. Stay for the 7 PM screening of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and then "enter quietly into the realm of genius" for the 9 PM screening of Young Frankenstein.

You had to know that we'd urge you to see the next entry in the 4 Star's Spring Asian Film Series. This week they're featuring Married to the Mafia, Korea's number-one movie of 2002. Not to be confused with Married to the Mob (for example, Chris Isaak unfortunately does not appear in a clown suit), Gamunui Yeonggwang, as it's also known, follows the story of a mistaken one-night-stand that ends in a shotgun wedding. And while you're parked, stop by PPQ and eat yourself a big-ass crab, becauase you deserve it.

If you didn't make it across the bridge for indieWire's Undiscovered Gems at the Rafael Film Center, they're now showing at the Roxie this weekend. How often does life give second chances? This is obviously a sign that you need to get out and see these movies.
