Wednesday -- The New Thursday

Our weekly pics for people who are drunk and unemployed.

Last Thursday, SFist Krissy recommended Doug E. Fresh. Doug! E! Fresh! Shall we say it again? We shall. Doug E. Fresh. Check him out at the DNA Lounge, doors open at eight, $25 at the door (we know, expensive, but did we mention Doug E. Fresh?).

If you're more into fine art than the fine art of beat-boxing (square), head out to Fort Mason for Free Visual Arts Day, where galleries on the grounds stay open and charge no admission. While you're there, check out the absolutely wonderful "Fostering Art" show at the Firehouse -- beautiful photographs by local students who happen to be foster children.

Finally, if it's your week to pick the hump-day drinking hole, and you're tired of your coworkers choosing sports bars and places spinning Bruce Springsteen on the jukebox, check out the After Work weekly at Voda, with DJs Kevin Koga and Daddy Africa spinning Afro-Latin Jazz and Soul. As Fela would say, "Don't be a follow-man."
