SFist Reads

We're a little anxious because our local branch of the SF Public Library is closing for renovations, so we will have to pick up our materials reserved online at a branch across the park from us. While we're over there maybe we'll hit Green Apple, one of our favorite local independent bookstores.
When we last heard from SFist Jon, he was bemoaning the fact that he has yet to read War and Peace. Today, he proudly announced "I'm up to page 325"! Dreams do come true, kids!
SFist Rain reports: "I am reading Eleanor Rigby by Douglas 'Must I Forever Be Known as Gen-X?' Coupland. As the title would suggest, the protagonist is a lonely woman (not yet sure if she keeps her face in the jar by the door), but she is in her thirties, and comes in contact with a surprising person from her past. So far, it's not quite so chock-full of the author's usual pop culture references, which is a good thing. In some of his past books that stuff just seemed to fill in for a general lack of real writing--you know, stuff like plot, character, and story development. I'm also enjoying not really knowing where the story is heading. I'll just have to wait and see if I like where it's gone when I get there."
And the rest of us feel sort of uninspired. Help us out -- what are you reading?
