SFist Has Sold Out

sf_metblogs_header.jpg
We have to be transparent about such things, so we'd just like to let our readers know that SFist has been purchased by SF Metblogs, who in turn have been purchased by Yahoo. What does this mean to you? Absolutely nothing. We'll still bring you the eight to ten or more posts everyday on issues that are important to folks in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Why did we sell out, do you ask? The money -- duh. Oh, yeah, and as appreciative as we are of 'Lil SFist, who has taken some great pictures for us, Metblogs offered us a decent camera. And once we found out that Derek Powazek and Heather Champ were now writing for the SF Metblog, we had to get on board. That, and we're tired of the f**king first person plural, AKA the "royal we." How annoying is that?

So from here on out you can look to SF Metblogs for all the latest news and views on the city. Domain-spammers will probably take over this URL, so go ahead and delete it from your bookmarks.

We are amused.

Funny fucker ;)

Actually, it goes like this. Super Lucky Cat, Inc. bought Yahoo who bought Metroblogging who owns SF Metblogs who bought SFist. As much as I was excited about owning Seans ass I turned around and sold it all to Google for 50 million. They'll be calling you soon to discuss.

You forgot to mention that SFist contributors each get a share of the digital camera. I want the film roll.

Being bought out by Yahoo!'s not the funniest of jokes, you should have said something like being bought out by AOL and then followed it with corporate marketting bs like "which will bring a lot of syngery from combining San Francisco's cultural scene with leading entertainment properties from Time Warner. Expect to see a lot more exclusive coverage and special events like the opening of this summers new Batman film"

Now that would have been funny!

Jamison,

but dear, the yahoo joke comes from sf.metblogs.com. Haven't you clicked the links?

Yeah I read their article too. I still didn't find the whole thing funny.

Yes, you beastly SFist people! April fool's buyouts are so 2002! A pox upon thee! Get thee to a nunnery for some local comedy gold. I weep louder than Jamison at your resounding disgrace!

I got a blog post for ya: you're all boring!

Wow, tough crowd.

Tough indeed...
