Arguments begin tomorrow in the MGM v. Grokster case being heard by the Supremes. BoingBoing is all over the story -- pointing out that even the relatively conservative Economist has come down on the side of P2P apps, links to another piece which flays the music industry for misrepresenting the actual costs of swapping songs, and notes that Mark Cuban has even stepped in to fund Grokster's defense. The EFF's Fred van Lohmann will be presenting Grokster's case tomorrow -- check out the EFF for analysis and relevant documents.

Looks like Sony might have to fork over some serious cash to Silicon Valley's haptics house Immersion Corp., as an Oakland judge has ruled that they infringed on a patent related to their vibrating PlayStation controllers. Nothing like a bunch of bad press to accompany the American rollout of your hott new handheld platform. Check out Kotaku's analysis.

In other news, Om Malik wrote a great piece on Yahoo's new surge into web relevance by taking the fight to Google. SFist is eagerly awaiting the full release of Yahoo 360, that's for sure. Also, if you're just itching to upgrade your Mac OS, you can now place your preorder on Amazon -- it should ship before May 31st. And finally, Variety is reporting [via BoingBoing] that Topher Grace is slated to star in a movie about Friendster. We're sure that it will focus on how pissed off he was when the Friendster profile for "That 70's Show" was deleted from the site by Jonathan Abrams, and how he used to check Friendster all the time but now logs in maybe once every six months.
