SFist Watches: Movies This Weekend

It's that terrible time of year where big studios dump the all the crap on a public that isn't necessarily unsuspecting, but wouldn't ordinarily set foot in a theatre showing The Pacifier (starring former fantasy fling to some Vin Diesel, at least until we saw him with hair) or The Jacket (another former imaginary flame, Adrien Brody until just about everything he did post Liberty Heights). So, since we've made a firm pact with ourselves not to ever take back men we've loved but been betrayed by, what are we going to do this weekend?

Well, one place that never lets us down is The Balboa. This is our big chance to catch up on some films we meant to see but didn't, including A Very Long Engagement and Bad Education.

The Red Vic falls rather alarmingly into our impromptu column theme of betrayal with the 50s body-snatching classic It Came From Outerspace, which will be screened in glorious 3-D.

The 4 Star's Spring Asian Film Festival continues with the world premiere of America's First Pakistani-American Film Night of Henna, with the director, cast, and crew of this locally-produced film present for screenings all this weekend. (While you're out 4 Star way, don't forget to stop off for a bite at Patpong.)
