No big intro this week -- let's just get on with the picks, starting with something we just know you'll want to see:

at the Off-Market Theater
You guessed it: Evil Dead: Live is based on that massive cult favorite, the Evil Dead trilogy of films by Sam Raimi, who most recently gave us the Spider-Man movies. (He also gave us The Quick and the Dead, but we're prepared to forgive him for that.) C.A.F.E., Primitive Screwheads, and the Off-Market Theater are presenting what they call "a straightforward theatrical presentation that pays tribute and remains faithful to the true essence of the Evil Dead series....Based on all three movies, Evil Dead: Live follows the story of Ash as he unknowingly unleashes the dark powers of the Necromonicon and must battle zombies and demons from hell to save his soul." Too bad the stage version doesn't feature the awesomely awesome Bruce Campbell, who played Ash in the movies, but what do you want for the affordable price of $15 a ticket? Thursdays-Saturdays through March 5 at 8 p.m.

(Side note about Mr. Bruce Campbell: we once saw him -- during his "Brisco County" days -- riding in a car in the SF Chinese New Year Parade. Dang cool, we tell you.)
