And in Bay Area Nerdy-Cute Teenager News, 17-year-old Wes Kovarik of Antioch (far left) placed second in the first half of the Jeopardy Teen Tournament tonight. (He doesn't have a Friendster profile; we checked.) We were rooting for Wes all the way, with his bashful smile and way-too-classy ensembles. What a heartthrob.
But Had he not been a semi-famous local we'd have had a hard time deciding who to vote for. His colleagues, Michael Braun and Anne Shivers, both seemed like such nice young people - Anne seemed to suffer Alex Trebek's slightly screwy conversation with gentle good humor, and Michael seems like he's just a big-hearted dork. Not to mention, both Wes and Michael have this sweet, kind shyness ... maybe it's their soft voices, or fine grooming, or ambiguous facial features, or dramatic nature -- we can't quite put our finger on it, but we bet those two fellows would get along famously off-camera. Just try not to think about it too much -- they're underage, you perv.
Anyway, be sure to cheer on our local boy Wes tomorrow night in the finals. Watching those two gentle-natured young men battling wits over the "American Idol Songs" category was pretty intense; we hope for similar extravagance tomorrow. As an added bonus, you'll get to see some high-larious kitschy commercials for Eggland's Best eggs and some kind of constipation relief product. The Teen Tournament is always the best time to advertise those sorts of things. Afterwards, the Internet will be sure to have in-depth analysis.

Your comment pertaining to Wes and Michael is EXTREMELY inappropriate and highly offensive. I was on the tournament with both of them, and neither is gay. Your incinuation is disgusting, and you need to apologize.
Insinuation. Good thing you don't have to spell on Jeopardy.
