SFist Blotter

Thanks to The Standing Room for the picture tip!

When Friendster goes bad -- a Cupertino child molester registered on Megan's List has been arrested for contacting other listed sex offenders and asking them out. Glen Westberg allegedly emailed five other listees, told them they looked cute, and asked them to check out his listing (and note how well-built he was). We really fear for the future of social networking.

Cardinals, lock the doors behind you -- two intruders walked into two different Stanford dorms and sexually menaced students. A middle-aged man followed a female student into the bathroom of Storey House, and another man walked into the Burbank dorm and started touching a woman while she was sleeping. Students say they would never let a "legitimately weird" person into the dorm, but the woman in Storey House said she didn't question the peeper's presence because he was wearing a Stanford Faculty Club sweatshirt.

And the SFPD is alerting Asian vendors not to feel extorted by gangs of teens pressuring them to buy expensive and purportedly-lucky citrus trees for Chinese New Year's, or face potential violence. The cops will be walking down Geary and Clement, looking for stores with a bunch of trees in front of them as potential shakedown victims.

We would have posted the Blotter earlier today, except that it took the Examiner until about 10:45 to post today's news! That's not a good way to celebrate your national launch week, Mr. Anschutz!
