A Voice-Over They Couldn't Refuse

Well, now we know what all those allegedly overworked programmers have been toiling away at. Redwood City-based EA Games announced today that James Caan and Robert Duvall, like the late Marlon Brando before them, have signed on to reprise their Godfather roles for a new video game based on the movie franchise. The actors have agreed to lend their likenesses for the characters and will voice the roles. Reportedly the game will have a free-roaming environment a la Grand Theft Auto. The trailer doesn't show too much, though.

EA Games has come under fire lately for allegedly overworking its employees.

The Godfather game, for PS2 and Xbox, is due to ship this fall, unless the EA Games minions drop dead of exhaustion first.

That trailer is seriously creepy.

I wonder if Brando actually rerecorded that for them, or if they just took it from the audio masters from the movie.

I've heard that they been struggling with the computer-generated Brando. It's already sired a few illegitimate computer-generated children, and they can't get it to stay sober or slim down. Plus it refuses to follow or even parse the scripts.
