Week in SFist

The above photo, from a series by Your Waitress, is of HiMY SYeD placing candles as part of his art piece and vigil to commemorate the one month point since the horriffic tsunami in the Indian Ocean. SFist also posted the personal story and photographs of Wyatt Gallery, who recently returned from the scene of the disaster in Sri Lanka. SFist Cares explores the rules relating to your 2004 tax return and your charitable giving.
In much, much more trivial news, the San Francisco Ballet held their opening gala, which means high times for the swells. Turns out Paris Hilton made it out for the festivities, really classing up the whole event. We're pretty sure that Gavin and his generous, rug-loaning benefactors also made it out.
Okay, so we crap on the Chron. But it's not like we don't support the writers. It's just that sometimes we question some of their editorial decisions -- especially if they involve not mentioning SFist! We think that bloggers should be writing about bloggers, and we certainly met a few who would do a fine job at Thursday's BARBARians gathering.
Finally, we highlighted three things that every San Franciscan loves -- coffee, public transportation and Craigslist. Okay, that second one, maybe not so much. But Craigslist (sweet, sweet Craigslist) is definitely a best friend. So what are you waiting for -- put your time scanning Casual Encounters to good use and send us your picks for hilarious Craigslist posts!
