We Read The Weeklies

...to see if any of our fellow SFist correspondents are mentioned!

mn_destroy1.jpgThe Guardian takes the coveted top spot for last week's triumphant Weekly of the Week win. Local politics corner: Kaiser doesn't properly clean the scopes they use to probe your large intestine. You know, it's never good to see the phrase "large intestine" in print. Cover article: It's really, really bad over there in Iraq. The food critic has a horrible meal at Tallulah. Dan Leone enjoys Little Star pizzeria in the Western Addition. An article about that photography show with porn stars clothed and unclothed. Yipes, Jenna Jameson's nipples! Sonic Reducer loves her some San Francisco classic rockers, and the book section (which we skipped).

.....And they're back, and on the front page, even, to make it up for them that we haven't been able to get copies for awhile: the San Jose Metro! Sorry, guys. The Biter column notes the phenomenon of an SF dive bar group's annual drunken Caltrain pilgrimage to San Jose. A man who killed himself over spam. Cover article: It's really, really bad over there in Sumatra. Hey, Fatlip (the guy that Ludacris beats up in his new Spike Jonze video Get Back) is playing in Cupertino on Friday.

The Weekly (featuring a cameo by our own SFist Cheshire!!! We can't believe he didn't even tell us he had a movie in a film fest last week!), the East Bay Express, and the Weekly of the Week, all after these commercial messages.

mn_protest-newsbox_bw.jpgOnward and upward to the Weekly. Huh, no letters this week. Dog Bites goes to Beardslee's execution. Weekly Obsessions notes the death of the "Mrs. –" t-shirt. Shoot -- where will we wear our Mrs. Chris Daly t-shirt to now? A fascinating article on office politics at the SF State ethnic studies department. Two photo shows: one on the city at night, and one on the 22 Fillmore bus route. SFist Chesh does not even tell us that his movie was featured in the Typophile Film Festival, featuring movies about fonts!!! Chesh, we love your posters! (We also totally want to see "Helvetica It Hurts.") Cover article: psych-rock band Axolotl. Ownership changes at Thee Parkway. Savage Love: ball-crushing, "decanting," and thanks for asking, Dan, his partner Terry, and their 6-year-old son DJ are doing fine.

a01californa.jpgThe EBX. Bottom Feeder scoops everything we've seen to report that The Onion's going to start distribution in the Bay Area! Bottom Feeder also collects a series of Bay Area Onion stories (.pdf) (from SF: "Virulent Strain of Soy Flu Traced to Single Tofurkey."). An elegy to a San Pablo trailer park. Cover article: What happened to Al Gore's new TV station? The Tae-Bo dude gives free classes this Saturday in Oakland at an African-American health fair. Book section: what do we do about the children? And a Hawaiian restaurant in San Leandro.

Weekly of the Week: The Weekly. You pervs out there will want to check out Jenna Jameson's nipples, though.
