Week in SFist

SFist has seen our traffic spike since the change in calendars, setting a new record for sessions in a 24 hour period on Tuesday. We'd like to think that it's because of the incredible popularity of our SFist Cares feature (it should be), but we have a feeling it's because we've taken the WULAD approach to increasing our readership -- Britney Spears' baby, anyone? Speaking of which, this weekend marks the anniversary of Roe V. Wade. Please, please, please remember to earmark your charitable giving for Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other groups who support a woman's right to choose.

In other political-action news, we'd like to point up DCist's special inauguration coverage. They have a great photospread from the protests and festivities on the day of the inauguration, and also have a mashup-tastic piece on the security surrounding the event by David Enders.

Of course, we had our own protests right here in EssEff. Can you tell we've got a little more time on our hands lately? We managed to get out in the real world for reports on hunting for WiFi from the comfort of Muni, stayed up late chatting to Jonas and Dinah from Bloggers Without Borders and crashed the SFMOMA's 10th Anniversary party. You know, if folks wanted to chip in and buy some advertising or schwag, we could afford to get out and go gonzo a little more often.

Finally, remember to enter our ticket giveaway featuring power-pop quartet By Divine Right. The show is on Tuesday, so enter now!
