SFist Blotter
Six shots were fired at a guy sitting in his car at 17th and Capp around 10:30 on Sunday night. We're sure he was doing nothing untoward there at that time. The man was not severely injured and drove himself to the hospital. Police suspect gang activity. (This entry makes the blotter because your correspondent heard the shots and called it in. We've never been a part of community policing before!)
In our own Ron Artest incident, a ref at a youth soccer game in Richmond is pressing charges against the angry coach who took a flying kick at him after he questioned whether players on the coach's team were within the correct age bracket.
...and both a cop and a suspect are in the hospital after an altercation on Haight and Steiner yesterday night. The cops saw a wanted man driving in a car with his friend. They pulled the car over to talk, and the driver put the car in reverse and knocked down one of the officers. The other officer fired two shots into the car, hitting the driver, who then took off. Backup was called and the suspects were caught at Central and Lyon.
