SFist Blotter

camerasuspect_l.jpgHave you seen this man? He's been stealing surveillance cameras in Campbell. Good thing criminals are dumb, or we'd never catch them.

The SFPD is looking for Diamond Bell, an 11-year-old girl who's been missing since Wednesday morning. She called her mother around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday saying she was going to shoot hoops in the Mission. (The report says she was going to Everett Middle School to play, but also says it's located at 23rd and Valencia, which is incorrect -- Everett is at 17th and Church.) Bell is African-American, about 5'1" and 105 pounds, and has shoulder-length hair.

And finally, local corner shops in West Oakland are worried that with the closing down of a notorious drug hangout spot, loiterers and drug dealers will just move in front of their stores instead. Shops in the area are too afraid to hire private security, after criminals began retaliating against them by vandalizing the stores and cars parked in the area, and the security firms withdrew from the jobs after one guard was shot in the leg. The cops come sometimes to help out, but not all the time, the store owners say.
