Browsing the web today, we discovered a persistent meme amongst geekier revellers this weekend. SFist thinks this is the first time we've seen any particular piece of consumer electronics inspire so many into feats of costuming derring-do. This dude actually used a tablet PC and some speakers to
make an iPod costume that worked as an MP3 player - a triple-helping of geek-cred to you, sir! A mere double-helping of geek-cred to those who
dressed up as the silhouettes from the iPod ad campaign. Your hearts were in the right place. Hey, it beats all the swells who dressed up as poor Roy Horn being mauled last year.

Since there's something geeky about being post-pubescent and getting into costume at any time, including Halloween, we'd like to present some of
Lucas Shuman's great photos from the festivities on Sunday - from feudal aristocrats to Geisha to Pee-Wee Herman, the Castro Halloween parade proved again this year that nobody does Halloween quite like San Francisco. Bandwidth-busting JPEGs after the jump.
Update: Yet more photos of Halloween geekery from Derek at Ephemera.
Lucas Shuman, photos.
And the geek award of the night goes too...

They got more points because two of the Leias
are bloggers, as was the sixth, who took the picture.

Actually, you've got more than two webloggers pictured there. The Lower-right Leia is Miss Metagrrrl.
Color me embarrassed. I didn't recognize her!
Actually, without her glasses, neither did I at first. :) I had to do some verification before I commented.
