SFist Watches: TV This Week

For some people, Halloween is a great time to live in San Francisco. It's not a holiday that goes unnoticed, and entertainment is virtually guaranteed. For others, the traffic, the inability to get a cab, and the people (The people! THE PEOPLE!) is enough to drive a person indoors for the entire weekend. If that's the case for you, why not watch some TV?

On Friday at 10:00am on USA you can catch an old episode of that locally shot TV series Nash Bridges. It's a Halloween episode featuring Elvira and a sniper. HILARIOUS! While we at SFist appreciate the fact that "Nash" was one of the few shows set in the City that was actually SHOT in the City, we also have to grant that it, well, sucked. Despite the presence of that bitchin' 1971 Cuda.

Da Former Mayor, Willie Brown, is a scheduled guest on Friday's episode of Dennis Miller on CNBC. First, who knew Dennis Miller had a show on CNBC? Second, what the hell is CNBC? And lastly, what color hat do you think Willie will wear? The show airs at 6:00pm.

TBS has started to run Friday night re-runs of the hilarious series Mr. Show with Bob and David. We find it kind of difficult to recommend watching these re-runs because it is basic cable, and in all likelihood they will edit the hell out of the episodes. Censored "Mr. Show" would be a painful thing to behold. But in the hopes, however dim, that the shows are being run pure, try and catch the 2:40am showing of the episode titled "If You're Going To Write A Comedy Scene, You're Going To Have Some Rat Feces In There." It includes a sketch about a corporation turning San Francisco into a family-friendly theme park featuring such attractions as "Hippieland" (the Haight) and Bachelorland (the Castro.) If it is edited, go out and buy the DVDs instead...That is, if you dare leave your home before November 1st!
