Striking a chord of fear in the hearts of all us who play our favorite hard rock of the 60s, 70s, and 80s a little too loud, a Vallejo man who refused to turn it down was shot in the leg on Sunday morning by his neighbor, who fired a round into the man's house. When the cops came, the neighbor pointed his gun at the cops, who then shot him dead. No word on what the man was listening to.
And red-light runners in San Francisco got the big octagonal sign last Friday when a judge ruled that the court could properly consider pictures of their license plates taken by those automatic cameras in the intersections in issuing moving violation tickets (for $320!). The camera program has led to 75,000 citations and have generated up to $2 million for the city. The cameras are now in 23 locations throughout the city and are prominently labeled as such to protect your privacy rights (which makes it that much more mysterious when someone barrels through the light there).
