Big Screen

If you’re sick of watching movies on theater screens small enough to be in some dot.commer’s rec room, The Tech Museum of Innovation has the cure for you. October 1-3 they’re presenting the Third Annual International IMAX Film Festival. At eight dollars a ticket, each movie will cost you less than you paid to see Gigli as a gag (is there really any defense for paying to see that film?). For you early birds, screenings start at 10 am, meaning, that you could remain in the IMAX world for 14 hours a day, if you stay through until the last show.

Fifteen movies are screening, running the gambit from classic IMAX fair like Whales (about, yes, Whales) to Pulse: a Stomp Odyssey which tours with Stomp. Thrill Ride, which traces the history of roller coasters compliments Scream Machines, the Tech Museum’s temporary exhibit on roller coasters. For the autoless out there the museum is easily accessible by public transit.
