SFPDGreshanda Williams, a 16-year-old in Oakland was caught in the crossfire in an East Oakland drive-by shooting. Greshanda, who was standing outside of her house talking with friends when the shooting occurred, was an honor student at McClymonds High who had hopes of attending St. Mary's College in Moraga to become a writer. Another student at Williams' high school, Davon Levingston, 14, was killed earlier this week by a 28-year-old who had talked Levingston into joining him on a crime spree but shot Levingston before the crime spree started. (The 28-year-old went ahead with the crime spree, but was caught when he crashed his stolen van, which then burst into flames).

It's just like that movie Angel! Stanford Law students and alums have rallied around a fellow classmate and member of the Stanford Law class of 2002 who skipped on-campus interviewing to become a prostitute instead. The student, who claimed to have made over $300,000 to pay off her law school debts by turning tricks, is now under investigation by the feds -- not for the prostitution, but for tax evasion for $61,000 she was apparently given in a money laundering scheme. One student said, "It does take that kind of money to pay off law school." Another said, "I think the idea of it [prostitution] has crossed a lot of people's minds, frankly."
