SFist Blotter

SFPDWillie Brown is hoppin' mad -- all the fedoras in the world can't get him a cab outside Postrio. Adding insult to insult, when Da Mayor Emeritus called to complain, the dispatcher refused to lodge the complaint, saying, "you just stole Willie Brown's cell phone." What Willie says hurts the most is the fact that he used to drive a cab in SF. Willie used to drive a cab? Mayor Brown will be filing a complaint with the SFPD Taxi Detail.

Two Yemeni girls (one 16, the other 7) who had been reported missing from their home in Nob Hill last Thursday were found safe in Golden Gate Park Saturday night. While the 16 year old was due to be sent back to Yemen in October to get married, her family says that can't possibly be the reason why she and the 7 year old snuck out of the house.

Attorney Nikolai Tehin is on trial in federal court for embezzling over $2 million in money from his clients, who included migrant workers suing for habitable apartments, a girl suffering from cystic fibrosis, and a baby with brain damage. Tehin took the money his clients got in settlements and rolled them over into an $8 million house in Pac Heights, "a seemingly endless fleet of luxury cars," and a 73 foot yacht named "the Escapade."

The SFPD has issued a public alert about a flasher targeting primarily Asian-American females in the Richmond District (and near SF State). He's white, 5'6", wears a hooded sweatshirt and mirrored shades, and sometimes is seen near a green Camry. Pathetic.

Finally, District 1 candidate Leanna Dawydiak is up for disciplinary charges before the Police Commision tomorrow, for the "taking of evidence." Does anyone know what's going on there?

You know, I find it so hard to believe that no cabbies recognized him and that the dispatcher didn't recognize his dulcet voice, that I think they're simply being political partisans. For some, there is no love lost for Willie Brown.
