No Green Space for Nader on CA Ballot

Ralph NaderSpeaking of Ralph Nader, looks like his options in California are running out. Last night the state Green Party executive committee, in an 11-7 vote, rejected Nader's request that the party hold its own nominating convention, which may have led to Nader's being on the ballot for President under the Green banner rather than David Cobb, who took the nomination in the national party convention in Milwaukee two months ago. According to the Chron, Nader campaign spokesman Kevin Zeese says Nader still has options, though he declined to say what any of those options is. SFist, noting the double-digit lead John Kerry currently has over George W. Bush in polls of Californians, wonders if any of those options, given the buddy-buddy relationship of late between Nader and the GOP, includes the possibility that President Bush will cede his spot on the California ballot to Nader, since Bush probably won't win the state anyway. But again, the Nader campaign ain't talkin', so that's really just a wild guess.
